OUR APPROACH

Drs. Selinger and Sidon approach the practice of psychology in a similar manner. They use a client-focused approach in which trust and support are of primary importance to healing. They believe that increasing self-awareness alone is often not enough to interrupt negative patterns, and so they use a combination of self-exploration and research-supported behavioral interventions to help you create long-lasting change and guide you towards a life you value. They will help you to increase your ability to tolerate life's difficulties through a balance of acceptance and change.

Drs. Selinger and Sidon both believe that each individual is different, and so your treatment plan will be determined to meet your needs, wants, and readiness for change. They use a variety of research-supported cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavioral therapy (BT) techniques including  Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in the context of a supportive therapeutic relationship.

Drs. Selinger and Sidon practice in a way that is cost-sensitive. This means that your treatment will be provided in the shortest possible number of visits that can achieve an effective treatment outcome. Drs. Selinger and Sidon consult on their cases on a regular basis to provide you with the best possible care.
